Coming Soon: HOJO ZANMAI 24 May – 8 June 2025

Artemis Art is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition, HOJO ZANMAI, a solo presentation by award-winning Japanese artist Shinya Masuda at The Drawing Room, Yap Ah Shak House, 17 Jalan Yap Ah Shak, Kuala Lumpur. HOJO ZANMAI will feature a collection of twelve large-scale photomontage works that invites the audience to contemplate and delve beyond what is visible. The series is a visual manifestation of the metaphysical and spiritual journey the artist has embarked on. In a sense, it is a coming together of scientific ideas with spiritually infused philosophies, taking a multilayered approach to examining the human experience.

This photomontage series by Shinya Masuda was recently selected as a Short List in the 2025 Sony World Photography Awards, for the Professional category, and we’re truly excited to have the opportunity to bring this series to be exhibited in Malaysia. This marks our third time showing Shinya Masuda’s art, after his Katsuko solo exhibition in 2016 and the 2020 virtual showcase, The Hanafuda Shouzoku Collection

HOJO ZANMAI runs from 24 May to 8 June 2025 and is Artemis Art’s first-ever collaboration with Yap Ah Shak House. We will provide more updates as the exhibition draws closer, including events and activities associated with this upcoming exhibition.
